Step 1- Cut a medium size hole out of the center of one plate. Your child may need help.

Older children may want additional holes in order to make the web more detailed.

Step 3- Lace the yarn through the holes. If your child is having difficulty threading the yarn through the hole, place tape on one end of the string and it will make it easier. Tape the ends to the inside of the plate.

Make sure the colorful paper covers the bottom of the plate. This helps the web standout.

Step 4- Cut a circle out of the colorful construction paper. Glue the circle to the bottom of the second plate.

A glue-gun or tacky glue would work as well, but will require more adult supervision.

Step 5- Place the plate with the web over the plate with the colorful circle glued on the bottom. Keeping the plate still, use the clear tape to attach the two plates together.

The spiders only need a little bit of glue to stick. Using too much glue will make the spiders slide off.

Step 6- Use the Elmer's glue to attach the spiders around the paper plate. Keep in mind, more glue can make the spiders slide off the plate, especially if your child wants to glue the spiders on the round surface of the plate. Tacky glue or a hot glue-gun would work as well, but will require more adult supervision.

Hang your spiderweb by the window or on your front door.

Step 7- Wait for the glue to dry. Punch a hole through the top of both plates. Thread a short piece of yarn through the hole and tie the ends in a knot. Use this small loop to hang your spiderweb inside or outside your house. Makes a great decoration!
